"Oh, hey," he said, tilting his head back to look up at her. "Want to draw on one?"

Bret was, at the very least, not falling down dead from exhaustion and low blood sugar after Cho's visit. There was still a heaviness to everything he did that felt alien and strange, but he was out and about at least. Jemaine would have seen the note and known to avoid this area, so he was safe to go.

He hated that he had to take that into consideration.

Billy needed help, and if there was anything he was good at it was trying to help. He wasn't sure what exactly he could do (the only practicing he'd done for wizardry was concentrating on turning it off and there wasn't really any way to prove whether that was actually working or not) but it was probably better to work in teams. Or something. He really wasn't at his best ( ... )

"I don't know exactly. Basically, I want to see if I can keep them from smashing by making lucky accidents happen or turning them into weird stuff."

He wondered if he'd be able to get away with dropping a Hammer-egg when Penny wasn't really paying attention. That could be his Not Trying to Save It condition.

He heard someone say his name and turned to find Bret. He waved, happy to see him, because probably it would be healthy to try to make friends with someone in addition to Penny, happy as he was just with that. And he was definitely feeling a lot more relaxed and himself--whichever self that was--than any previous time he'd interacted with Bret.

"Hey. Would you like to draw a face on an egg?" He wasn't really registering any signs of discomfort and held out an egg from where he was seated, which Bret would have had to move nearer to the edge to take.

Bret glanced around nervously, a bit thrown by Billy's eager welcome. Oh, Penny was there too. He gave them both a nervous wave, only slightly reassured by the presence of two people on the roof. Frankly, he probably would have felt better if Jack were there, if only because Jack seemed like the type who would catch you and scream 'Don't let go!' just as you slip over the edge. But that probably would've been awkward.

He supposed, as long as he wasn't standing right by the edge, he'd be able to handle it. He came close enough to take the egg. Once he had it, he gave it a puzzled look. "We're dropping egg-people?"

Billy shrugged. "And some other stuff, but I think egg people are a good idea, since they would normally smash very dramatically. I'd make even more but I guess that would be a waste of eggs."

And he was, thanks to Penny, noticing how many people needed more food than they had.

"Anyway, this one is Humpty Dumpty, so I think it should go first." He held up his egg, which he'd attempted to draw a little cravat on.
