Wednesday afternoon, the airship, refueled with natural gas, leaves Jhelbor. First it's unhooked from the top of the building, then it turns, slowly and lazily, towards the East; finally, a little plume of smoke trailing from the top vent, it glides away, towards the distant mountains.
Wainwright has taken aboard any worldwalker passenger who has requested it of him.
On the ship, rooms are cramped and small, though, luckily, mostly empty; at the front of the ship, there's a sort of cockpit/control room, glass-fronted, with a beautiful view. Behind that, there's one tiny bunkroom that crams four beds, for women, one that crams six, for men; below those, Wainwright himself stays in a sliver of a room. The back of the ship is the steam-driven engine, followed by the kitchen, which uses most of the engine's heat.
Bathrooms are small enough that people barely fit inside, slipped in directly behind the men's bunkroom.
The floor and walls are always warm, and sometimes uncomfortably so, but climb on top and you find yourself a sort of observation deck with all sorts of vanes and gears and gyroscopes, sailing high in the air.
Travelers, enjoy.
