Oki didn't mind the rain either way. It never really rained in Kamui, being much too cold, but he he'd been here long enough that he was used to it.
Work still needed to be done, rain or no, so he'd spent most of the morning been helping with various odd jobs and the like. Now he was considering practicing with his sword outside the city. The idea wasn't there for long after he spotted Cedric though, and he had a moment of indecision.
He hadn't spoken with him since, well, that day in the oasis cave. Maybe it was time he he...if only to ask how his head was. So that decided, he caught up to him fairly easily. "Good afternoon."
Cedric tensed slightly as Oki approached, mostly because the last time they'd seen each other, Cedric was trying to kill someone. Of course, now he was glad he hadn't succeeded. Ginny wouldn't have wanted to be avenged - not that way. She would have wanted peace, an end to the fighting that had taken her life. This was one small step in the right direction, perhaps. A Jhelbor outside the war.
"Good afternoon." He didn't relax completely, but his tension was no longer visible. He very much doubted that this man was about to attack him in broad daylight on a public walkway.
"..." Oki let his gaze wander over the side of the walkway for a moment, not sure where to go from there. "How's your head?" he asked finally, unable to think of anything else to say at the moment. But inquiring after the health a person who had been injured seemed like an appropriate way to go. And he had been concerned back then.
"Still on my shoulders," Cedric quipped. It was easier to deal with these things with humour, brush them aside, make them slightly less terrifying. "I got some salve for the scar. It's almost gone." Granted, what could be seen of the scar because it wasn't hidden by his hair was the tamest bit. The part that had been hanging in ragged flaps was probably always going to look horrible, if anyone ever looked close enough.
Demyx hadn't minded the rain either- in fact, he'd really enjoyed it. Only problem was that he couldn't really play in the rain for fear of his lute getting wet, and not many people would give him random tips or anything for that either so he'd been running kind of low on money. Which, he figured, was ok, because he was a musician and there was probably some rule that said that he had to be either broke or wildly successful at least half of the time.
Today was sunny, though, and while the lack of rain made him a little sad he was sitting outside, playing whatever songs came to mind and generally enjoying himself as much as he could. He usually just saw the natives, so when he spotted a worldwalker he smiled a little more, even if... the guy's name escaped him at the moment. He really needed to write these things down.
Cedric heard the music and stopped to listen. He had always liked music, even if dancing was not a strong favourite as far as ways to spend his time went. It was able to evoke such emotion from people, depending on the melody. After a minute or so, he felt around in his pocket until his fingers closed on a ten dremlin coin. He could finally tell the difference between them by the weight and the size. He supposed that was just one more step on the road to complete assimilation. Heavy thoughts. Too heavy for a sunny afternoon.
He dropped the coin into the case at the man's feet and then put his hands back in his pockets. He didn't have a ton of cash to spare, true, but probably more than a street musician did. Spring was upon them, and being able to look up at a tree and fill a basket with only the edible fruit in a matter of moments was a valuable skill to have.
"Thanks!" Demyx said cheerfully, smiling up at Cedric as he continued to play. Really, anything at all was helpful, but he didn't mind when people didn't give him anything. Music was just supposed to make people happy and, ok, so it usually made musicians happy if they were paid, but a lot of them weren't picky about that.
Still, it would be nice if he could remember this guy's name. There weren't that many worldwalkers, after all. So instead, making conversation in the hope that he might be told. "Any type of music you really like?"
"This is nice," Cedric said, nodding his head at Demyx and his lute. "What's it called?" He doubted that Demyx would know any of the music he personally preferred. Wizarding bands and all, and at this point in time he was absolutely certain that he was the only Earth Wizard in Rowan.
