It's such a unique picture. In some ways I adore it, and in others it doesn't quite look like her, ya know? Depends on how it's used, as well. But undeniably gorgeous pic, yes.:)

I love the one that says "querida" on it :D That's Portuguese! I haven't read Lucifer Rising yet, but is there Portuguese in it? Or is it Spanish? Sometimes the words overlap.

I believe it's supposed to be Spanish in this case. The story is set in Miami, and there's a fair amount of Spanish language and hispanic culture thrown in. I just adore the word, and it's so lovely to think of it rolling off of Jude's tongue.:) (It's how she often refers to one of the other characters, but I thought it was perfect -- and symbollic -- turned around on her as well)

What's your connection to Portuguese? I got fascinated by it in my late teenaged years and tried to learn Continental, but sadly didn't get very far. Would love to go back to it, someday.

Ah, Spanish, I thought about that. Kinda depressing, I was hoping it was Porto :P I'll have to start reading L.R. "Querida" gets used a lot still, it's quite a common term of endearment (for women).

My connection to Portuguese is that I am one, lol. I've started to use Portugese words in my fanfic titles just as a way of asserting presence, I guess. Ah, yes, the Continental form is the proper way, though my parents are from Azores and I'm familiar with Brazillian dialect. Anything spoken in Coimbra is generally your best bet. Even on the continent there's various dialects from Algarve to Lisbon to Minho. We're unfortunately, quite a fragmented people.

This is all so fascinating to me. I'm a complete language geek. I had no idea you were Portuguese. Another of my Flisters is, too, only she's from Portugal (and living in the UK).
