I think regular and Elite is a fair compromise because some trainers, like Riku, wouldn't want to start new because he's already got a powerhouse team.

And it's less complicated than breaking the cap and trying to figure out how strong a 100 is against a 100+.

And noted!

Though, with breaking the cap, it would break it for all pokémon, not just the gym leaders. So it would take a while but all level 100s would be able to grow more.

Regular and Elite sounds like the best option. Breaking the level 100 cap is kind of a neat idea, but given the lack of a good reference or comparison in the real game it'd probably be a fairly major headache to figure out actual power levels and such.

Depending on how the system plays out, I might suggest some kind of perk or extra prize if a trainer manages to beat all the gyms' Elite teams. Nothing major, basically just something sort of shiny for the character to show off at parties or whatever.

Unfortunately, there's not much we can really compare the breaking cap to except that it would just continue the leveling overall. I don't think it would be too difficult, it would just make it go from 100 to, say, 200 or something.

We could probably come up with a super prize. Some sort of champion certificate and a commemorative plaque of heroes or something XD

Oh crap I voted with the wrong journal 8| please ignore rehashes...........

But yeah I definitely think having a set for both lower levels and for higher levels would be best, to encompass everyone's needs!

Definitely like the dual option of regular and ~*~elite~*~.

Hayate still hasn't hit 100 with any of his and won't for quite a while, so having both sounds fun for normal trainers and those that are horrific power levelers.

I'm not sure what option this would be, but I like the idea of gym leaders being skilled but not over level 100, but the Elite Four (and only them) being over 100. While. Not breaking the level cap for anyone else. I mean, they are the Elite Four…

You're suggesting that only the elite four go over level 100? The main downside I can see of that is that it wouldn't be much of a 'fair' fight but then again, when did the elite four ever fight fair. But we'll make a note of that!

PRETTY MUCH, yeah. I mean I'm not talking about level 200, just enough to have a slight and unfair advantage. Especially since at higher levels with Pokémon, the level difference starts to matter less? It's much easier for a level 40-something Pokémon to take down one that's 60-something than a 10-something and 40-something (because that is practically impossible).
