It's when Dave realizes he's looking over his shoulder on his way to the café that he decides this whole thing is pretty fucking stupid. Vantas and the clown kid are in Cherrygrove at best, and Dave's got time to sort this shit out before anything happens to take it out of his control.

He slides into a seat across from Eridan when he arrives. "Hey."

Eridan smiles.

"W-would you like a drink? I could get you some bubble tea if you w-want."

"Yeah, sure." Dave slouches in his seat, his feet bumping Eridan's beneath the table, and he honestly hardly notices. He's gotten used to the other boy being pretty close by now.

Eridan gets up and orders them both a bubble tea. He returns shortly after and hands Dave his while sipping at his own.

"So, w-why did you w-want to hang out all of a sudden?"
