Ruki smokes too much, Uruha drinks too much, they argue, they kiss so rough that their lips bleed. Ruki is upset, Uruha only says what he knows will get Ruki back to him.

I don't know :) Halfway through I wanted to say "poor boys", but then there is this Perhaps that's how they're meant to be. Loud and obvious, but quiet and unassuming. which gives me a glimmer of hope. I just get the feeling that they are tired, so very tired. Despite Uruha being the one who knows Ruki better than anyone, that there is still a part of Ruki that is left beyond his understanding and that is just wearing both of them down.

The feeling of this fic is very... silent. Like any movement, or any wrong answer will change the mood at any moment.

Ruki looks away; ashes are falling to the ground; there's that sharp noise that Uruha's rings make once they hit the wall. They're both waiting, waiting for something that will come and rescue them and make everything okay.
I love this part the most. :)
