Hughes had definitely set out for Route 30 far in advance, but somehow he'd found himself back near Goldenrod again after that strange weekend of lost memories... he'd fully intended on setting out again as soon as possible, but had lingered momentarily in Goldenrod, out of sheer confusion at what had just happened, and also a desire to figure some things out first.
But by Friday, he was all packed and ready to set out once again. With his Eevee at his heels, he made his way out of the city.
