I think he's having to tread some thin ice right now since the political scene is so polarized right now and it's an election year. People are already upset with him (and I join in that sentiment), but really the poor guy just can't win. He'll either be seen as too liberal if he takes a hardline stance, or a backstabbing conservative if he doesn't do enough. Really, I don't care what he says, so long as this spill gets cleaned up. And pronto! As a citizen of a Gulf state that was already one of the worst economies in the nation, we're just not going to be able to bare this kind of crisis. I honestly would prefer a hurricane.

The thought of a hurricane in the Gulf right now is what really scares me. All that oil would get picked up and smeared all over everything.
