Work proceeds apace on the new skirt: a hem, a waistband and it's done. I'll leave the jacket unlined (at least, for now) and maybe even sew it on the machine, just to get it done for Purg. And mastersantiago's dragon coat will probably also be done on the machine for speed ( Read more... )

Are you going to be at the picnic on Saturday? I can bring the bin of scraps there. I may be able to pack it along to the baronial meeting on Monday, too.

I'm interested in any pretty silk scraps for a future reliquaries class. I don't sew enough to accumulate them on my own. Unfortunately the next time I can be *sure* I'll see you is October Crown.

I've got a mess of roughly handkerchief-sized silk scraps from some of my old dyeing research. Would those be useful? I don't think they're good for much other than bag linings.

Stuff a bunch of pretty bits in a good-sized baggie and I'll be quite happy. Bag linings and so forth is exactly the sort of thing i'd want them for. A few especially nice ones might become backing sewed to a little round piece of card with a "relic" glued on top.

Also, if you have stuff left after other people have picked through it, I'll happily take it off your hands as soon as I get a chance. I have very few scraps, and any silk, linen and wool bits are useful for needlework.
