Why isn't it November yet?

Gerard Way has done a special guest cover for something called Rex Mundi issue 15. I like the disembodied reaching red hands and the Escher-inspired staircases in the background. I have no idea what the comic is about or if it's any good, but I'm just happy for Gerard, that he got asked to do the cover art. Way to go, Gee ( Read more... )

I'm in the middle of Rex Mundi right now (five graphic novels so far). It's a great comic about Templars and all that rot. Interesting about Rex Mundi. I shall have to ask my one comic-reading friend if he has it. Actually, I keep meaning to ask him about a whole load of stuff: Sandman, Grant Morrison's Doom Patrol, and Watchmen spring to mind.

How I wish I had access to a good library!

Our public library used to have a very poor selection of graphic novels but they're into comics in a big way these days and buy all kinds of things. They need to be nudged now and again though -- they bought Nos. 1-3 of RM but not Nos. 4 and 5.

I'm not overly keen on Watchmen. I have a sort of love-hate relationship with Alan Moore. When he's good, there's no one better. When he isn't, I just wish he'd shut up. I totally fangirl Grant Morrison.

I thoroughly approve of Grant Morrison, in spite of never having read any of his work, because:
a. he and Gerard Way have a mutual admiration thing going, and
b. he has a seriously yummy accent.
