A few years ago, after a recommendation from my friend Laura, I read He's Just Not That Into You. Laura loved it and made it seem like a hilarious book about relationships. I had never read a self help book before but for some horrible reason I decided to check it out from the hometown library and read it. HUGE MISTAKE. That book fucked me up ( Read more... )

If he's "just not that into you" it's HIS LOSS. Furthermore, he's obviously a fucking idiot because you, my dear, are fantastic.

Lemme know if you want to fend off the weeps and/or obsessing with yarn and/or wine...

xo,
Leah

Now I feel really bad that I emailed you that Celine Dion/Anne Geddes photo. That's so not what you needed to see.

All your friends are "into you"! Blogger friends too.

Ok, so now I don't feel so bad. The email address associated with this blog made my message to you bounce back. So I didn't subject you to Celine after all...

Totally his loss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If he can't see how fabulous you are and how lucky he would be to have you in his life then he totally isn't worth your time.

Now I just need to turn that advice on myself!

I, too, read that book when it came out. On one hand, I think it's a very important message that some women have a hard time with. On the other hand, it can get toxic - i.e., boy calls 5 minutes after he said he would? Dump him!

Not to sound like your grandmother, but I don't know, maybe it'll help - I had a really hard time with boys in my early twenties. Actually, make that right up until age 27 when I met the beyonce. No one was that into me, or if they were, it didn't matter because I wasn't into them and therefore their opinion didn't matter. (Does that make me could like a total beeyatch?) I think - honestly - boys are just really stupid in their early twenties. (There are exceptions, like Justin, but...) In my experience, it got much better the more you know yourself and as boys grow up.
(Unfortunately, your tolerance is only going to get worse.) I vote for yarn and wine with Leah in the meantime!
