Views from my house!

Dec 12, 2007 00:30

This is me at my most boring, I suspect!!
It struck me recently how different the scenery here can look over a relatively short period of time. So I have developed a habit of taking shots of views from the house in two or three directions, sometimes several in one day, sometimes several in one hour, to show the countryside in her changing moods and ( Read more... )

Thank you - I do know I am very lucky!
Beautiful icon - do I recognise eyesthatslay's lovely work? I think I downloaded this one, too but am still enjoying the trees at the moment! I found her after you told me about her, when I admired one of your icons ages ago , I think.

It is lovely indeed.

And yes, you do spy the work of eyesthatslay. I seriously could fill all of my 140 spaces with her work alone; she is so talented.

The best thing about our house, and the reason we bought this particular house!
I try never to take it for granted and taking these has made me look around more and take notice of the play of the light, etc which can't be bad!

LJ won't load your pictures for me, stupid thing that it is :-(.

I shall try again later in case it's in a better mood then. [pokes lj with a sharp stick]

Oh, how frustrating for you. I do hope you can see them later! If you can't let me know and we'll find another way round it. No-one else has had a problem, I don't think, so hopefully it will sort itself out.
Halfway through writing this entry last night and, more importantly with half the piccies uploaded, LJ suddenly started telling me it was aborting my uploads. I left it to chunter for ten minutes or so and it was fine after that - very strange!

Yay, I can see them now, and very nice they are too - what a pretty place you live in!

Perhaps I was too quick to blame Lj - it might have been my ISP playing silly beggars...

Oh, good, glad it resolved itself! And yes, we do live in a pretty place, this exercise does make me appreciate it more!

Those are beautiful & you're right - it is fascinating to watch the seasons change, and the how the mood changes even just in the space of a few hours.

So glad you liked them. It's so nice to share these with such a appreciative f-list! I'm quite looking forward to continuing to record the seasons progressing over the next few months, though I promise not to post them all to LJ. Maybe some of the more spectacular ones!
Thanks for commenting!

These - and you, btw - are not boring, they are superb and gorgeous pics. I love seeing where others live, and I'd love to visit the Cotswolds one day. Passed not too far away in October, but that was to a convention.

Awww, you are kind! I'm glad you like them - it's really made me look at my everyday scene with a different eye and it's lovely that so many people have also enjoyed seeing these contrasts.
There are parts of the Cotswolds that no-one ever sees, whereas some areas are full of visitors all year round. I think you'd enjoy visiting, though - it's very gentle rolling scenery and can be absolutely stunning! I'll show you round one day!
And yes, Oxford is the other end of the Cotswolds from us - I love visiting there, gorgeous place and only about 90 minutes away by car.
