I actually, God forbid, did a little bit of work on a vid today. I now have about a third of this one down, as opposed to the thirty seconds that have been on my PC for 8 months. I posted a little preview on youtube to kick me into further action on it ( Read more... )

Thanks! I keep thinking about Chopper and how much of him to put in, but as well as there not being a verse that fits him like the three verses fit Nami, Brook and Robin respectively, I can't help but think Luffy wasn't personally the one who 'saved' Chopper -- Hiruluk and Doctorine had already done that. He gave him back his sense of a dream and the wider world to explore it, but Chopper wasn't in that horrible dark place when Luffy took him in the way that the other three were. He would have been okay if he'd stayed with Doctorine as well. Does that make sense?

I think there may end up being a few clips of Chopper in there (I think everyone will get at least one clip of their past in it) but the three verses and the bulk of the vid will be Nami, Brook and Robin.

The three verses really do fit them. How about this for Brook:

Got on my dead man's suit and my smilin' skull ring
My lucky graveyard boots and song to sing
I got a song to sing, keep me out of the cold
And I'll meet you further on up the road.

I'm not arguing that he's not better off with the crew, but it's not as direct as saving Nami from Arlong, taking Brook off a dead ship where he was literally all alone, and going up against the World Government to give Robin a place in the world.

I think Kureha would've lived forever. Heh. No, really, I think if he'd stayed on the island Dalton would've looked out for him and he had potential to gain allies there other than Kureha because they know he fought for Drum kingdom. I don't think Robin, Nami and Brook would have been able to break their isolation either - even if they're human, they'd both been in their situations for years, either literally alone in Brook's case or able to trust nobody in Robin's or having to betray everybody in Nami's.

He'll probably be in there, but there isn't a verse that directly fits him so it'll be in the instrumental bits and maybe some of the chorus he'll get some scenes.

The Brook verse was the one that nailed the song for me and made me want to vid it. :)

Thanks! I try to avoid the songs that have been vidded lots of times before. :) I vidded anime to Paul Simon, so I'm already marked as insane on that score probably. Heh.
