So I'm trying to sell my couch. I listed it for $150 on CL, and I got a response almost immediately. Great, right? So I emailed her my phone number and told her that if she wanted to set up some time to come look at it in person, we could do that later today or tomorrow.

So I gets this email back.

It sounds like a scam. I wouldn't follow up with them or maybe just send them an email to lie and say the couch was sold.

Definitely a scam. I saw enough of those when I was trying to find a job and an apartment on Craigslist. Cash only transactions is the only way to go, because no one can cheat you out of those. And the check can bounce and your bank wouldn't know for weeks. I am always skeptical of poor, formal English users who offer checks.

Yep, a known scam. They'll send you a fake check.

Scam.

Probably the one where they send you a check for too much money, tell you to send them the difference and then the check bounces.
