I idly look at wedding dresses in my spare time (and not-so-spare time). Although my wedding is at least a year and half away, I want to know what's out there, what designers are in what price points so I know what not to look at and what to focus on.

And I would also have thought that Black men would like the hourglass type, but now that you say it, I can see why they would like the pear-type too. Oh, the things you learn from psychology! (Btw, I'm leaning toward buy it used. Less money up front, and hey, you might be able to sell it again for maybe 33% of what you paid for it, which is even less money out of pocket).

Heck, I used the same dress I wore at the prom for my wedding dress. In fact said dress is actually my mom's, not mine. It's one of those ageless looking off-white dresses.
Put the savings on the dress towards the honeymoon or investment of your future home.
Well, men prefer the pear-shaped look for medical and historical reasons. They say people with wider hips go through easier pregnancies and childbirth than those with narrower hips. Not as important if you're wanting a child-free lifestyle, but in case you do plan kids with your loved one, then it's an added bonus!
