Also, Ghita is tugging on my sleeve, looking for more attention. Very good sign. :D

Huzzah!

I'm sorry I've been so useless as a beta reader. It turns out that if I have to remember to hop onto Google docs to look for the next chapter... I don't.

But I will do my best to get on there and read everything to date in the near future, because I do love your work, and this neglect really is about me being hopeless, not your writing at all.

love

Catherine

No worries. Happy to hear your thoughts whenever they come.

I'm still working on the new draft, so everything in the file is still up for beta. If you like, now that the craziness of November is over, I could email you weekly with new stuff...? The new no-email-before-word-quota is working well, so I hope to continue it. I'm calling it a pre-new-year's-resolution.

Love,
Cate

I would love that! I tend to do better with emails (and being able to print things out, of course).

Incidentally, are there any confectionery flavours you don't like? I'm hoping to get your Christmas present in the mail to you next week...

Nope. No dislikes.

And thank you. :)

I am trying to sort out chunks to put into Googledocs. I haven't really touched the thing since the end of November, but I knew December was a horrid month for me.

I'm facing some December-related exhaustion myself. I'm hoping to get back on the wagon soon.

I'd love to read some more, when you're ready. You've got some fascinating ideas set up in that story.

I kind of choked when I realized the 2nd draft would have be omniscient instead of strict limited 3rd person by chapter. Either that or write out Ferren, which might work. I do want to finish the first draft one way or another though.

I planned a lot of characters that just weren't needed. I just wanted to be prepared.

Oh, I hear you on POV planning issues. I wanted to keep Twenty Years After to three narrators (Jack, Evie and Marie-Thérèse) but now I have Percy off in Holland without a POV character and I'm not sure how to handle it. :)

Hope things sort out soon. Let me know if there's any way I can help.
