That sense of wistfulness continues to pervade these stories. Just played catch up on the last few you posted today and am curious for more. :)

I think wistfulness can be far more powerful than outright angst. It's certainly more interesting to write.

I'm glad you're enjoying them :) Thanks for commenting.

I agree. I think with the wistfulness, unlike straight out angst, you allow the reader to enjoy and revel in the happiness. However, that happiness is laced with a sadness, which (to me) makes both feelings more poignant. If that makes any sense?

Glad to see forces are conspiring against Remus's self-sacrifice. :-D

Is the Fabian and Gideon thing intentional (Sirius is misremembering)? I couldn't quite decide.

Poor old Remus. As if self-sacrifice has ever worked around Sirius Black.

The F & G thing was intentional. I eventually decided it was creepier to leave it unremarked.

Thanks for the comment :)

I love the combination of sadness/nostalgia and narrative drive here. Well done! M.

Thank you :) I'm sorry it's coming in fits and bursts - I'm madly busy in real life at the moment. There may be more next week, once I've got my first assignment in.
