Sorry, very brief comment before bed, but I enjoyed this, especially the familiarity with which the characters treat each other and the economy of language you use to show that. And having James absent instead of Peter? *heart warms* Lovely! Maggie

I've written this combination of Marauders a few times recently, without really thinking about it. I love James, but he can be overpowering, and removing him lets me focus on the interaction between the other three. I find the relationship between Peter and Sirius fascinating - there was obviously enough to it that Sirius maintained it throughout school, even though he seems to have less respect for Peter than the other two.

I really did. It felt like a scene midway through a movie, short and modest but with lots of development behind it.

I really want to read some of the other things you've written. Which I won't be able to do until I get through some deadlines--sigh--but for afterward: do you have recommendations for me?

Off to go conquer those deadlines, but thanks in advance.

M.

I sympathise on the deadlines - I never seem to get caught up. I'm trying to cut back on my online time a bit until I move away, though it's still too tempting to mess about on LJ rather than carry on with the clearing out.

The best thing I've written in fandom is Pilgrimage, but it's long (just over 15,000 words) and angsty so I understand completely if people leave it. It's Remus-centric, December 1981-January 1982. Otherwise, I don't really have a favourite. I tend to think of my fanfic as disposable culture. I certainly don't attempt to create something lasting in the same way I do when writing original fiction. Unfortunately that means I tend to be fairly dismissive of my fanfic.

That said, I have a soft spot for Hung With Bloom Along the Bough, just because it still makes me smile.

Thanks. I was in the mood to write some bickering, and some odd muse set me to messing about with the dictionary ^_^

I'm glad you enjoyed it :) Thanks for the comment.

omg *so* cute. especially the wanking by pulling petals and that Sirius is *blatantly* trying to get him out of his pjs (Itching powder!) and he is *so* oblivious.

and the sneaky snuggling. love the snuggly puppies.

*chuckles* I always think part of Sirius' charm is that he's utterly obnoxious, yet it's impossible to dislike him for it.

And really, once I glanced at the definition I had to write fic ^_^

Peter, you are every teenage boy I've ever known, and I love you for it.

*grins* I wasn't sure about this one, but then I decided that I liked it as Peter fic, even if the Remus/Sirius bits weren't as tightly written as I would have liked.

Excellent, as ever. Usual brilliant grasp of characterisation, setting, pacing and dialogue. Very nicely realistic too, although if I'm honest, the shift from bastard!Sirius to sweet!Sirius was a bit abrupt. But then, that's Sirius for you!

I'm glad you liked it. I admit I struggled a bit to finish it - I had to decide at 2am whether it was the start of a larger fic or just a snippet, and decided to keep it short.

Thanks for commenting :)
