Ordinary Lives (snippet 1)

Jun 03, 2006 21:36

The life-eating angsty fic of doom is currently standing at 5000 words / a third done, so I thought I'd have a break and write something a little more light-hearted. This comes purely from my reaction to the odd comments about an AU where Lily and James are alive. My reaction is usally to flail, and stammer, yeah, but, yeah, but, Voldemort! So, ( Read more... )

james, sirius, harry, lily

so, hmmm, voldemort's just taken much longer to rise to power? well, however it goes, this seems intriguing. i totally hate you for being able to have several plotty stories going at once, though. :P

At the moment I'm thinking of this as the AU in which Peter was brave. I'm not sure where I'm going with it, though.

It's just an excuse to mess about really ^_^

Oh, I certainly wouldn't mind more! Especially as I'm busy giggling madly at the idea of Sirius spending 11 years undercover as Padfoot! I imagine it can't all be this amusing if Voldemort's still about, but the premise is so promising. I'm hooked!

I reckon the poor boy gets to change back at nights. It really is the ultimate undercover identity, though. I'm more worried that I can't work out where Remus is yet. Or Snape.

Oh, jeez, there are so many questions that go along with this. Why has this been hidden from Harry? Why is Sirius content to be Padfoot full-time? Where is Remus and why is he not making out with Sirius? Curious. Please, more!

*chuckles* I'm still messing about with this, so I don't know the answers to most of those questions. So far the only people I've worked out in this timeline are the Potters, the Longbottoms, Slughorn, and Harry's DADA teacher.

It's intriguing. Like others have said, the premise really begs a whole host of questions (and stirs little plot bunnies in my head) - none of which you can answer quite yet. I'd say fiddle with it and see where it goes.

I always quite enjoy messing about with AU, and this is purely for fun. Everything I'm writing at the moment requires hefty amounts of research, but all I need to do for this is flick through PS.

Thanks for the comment :)

Oooh, that's rather interesting!

Yes, more please, if nothing else I'd really like to hear the conversation they're about to have...

The main thing in my brain is, somewhat shallowly, similar to mizzmarvel, namely where is Remus and why is Sirius not off somewhere living with him? That being said, I adore the idea of Padfoot being the family dog (reminiscent of Scabbers and the Weasleys, no?)

It's amusing me, anyway, so I'm hoping I'll stick at it. I've always between intrigued by the idea of the wizarding world still being at war when Harry enters it.

I do now know where Remus is ^_^

I hadn't thought of Scabbers. Poor Peter really is a dead hero in this one.

Thanks for the comment :)
