“I believe that counts as reason sixty-five Sirius Black won’t live to see forty,” Remus said dryly.
&
“Who’s gorgeous?” Nym demanded.
“Your cousin Sirius, sweetpie.”
Nym wrinkled her nose. “He’s not. He’s silly.”

oh, i love sirius in this. :x also, alksdjal;isur, merlin & nimue!! oh, man. :x :x

*chuckles* I'm currently writing original fic about Nimue and couldn't resist the snide reference.

I love writing from Sirius' point-of-view. It's so deliciously messy.

I'm a complete Arthurian geek. Unfortunately, I've spent the last few days switching back and forth behind Nim (Nimue) and Nym (Nymphadora) and my brain is boggling. I managed to get references to the Orkney brothers into scarvesnhats without half the confusion.

Oh, that was wonderful. Every second of it. Warm and familiar and quick and so, so real. The little things, Tonk's not understanding a woman falling in love with an older man (heheh) and the joke about reasons Sirius won't live to be 40, and the political discussion and war talk (especially the Alan bit!) all of it just made this chapter so meaningful and still, it really felt like a dinner party. Very well done. :D

Heh. I live in a very dinner-party place. The hard bit of this was not letting any of these conversations run on endlessly.

Warm and familiar and quick and so, so real.

I'm glad that came across because it was that mood of old friendships that I was aiming for.

I love your little Tonks so much! I like her in your scarvesnhats stories, but she's even better a couple of years older. You do such a good job portraying what a child metamorphmagus would be like (i.e. constantly changing her appearance, rather than the more occasional way Tonks does it as an adult, once she's more used to her abilities).

She's so much fun to write. I can't imagine a kid who wouldn't want to use those powers. The very fact that she seems so well-balanced as an adult is a real compliment to Ted and Andromeda.

*singsongs* Nym's got a cru-ush! Nym's got a cru-ush!
I don't mind it so much when she's little, but as foreshadowing it breaks me in two. Here's Sirius and Remus, and they both so much want to get back together and then here's Nym who has a child's crush on Remus and they're reading about Merlin and Nimue, and when she grows up Nym (Tonks) will get together with Remus after Sirius falls through that damn veil after they're finally back together after Azkaban and Remus thinking Sirius betrayed them all and IT'S ALL PETER'S FAULT, THE RAT!
Er, sorry. I feel strongly about this.
But it's just so sad! *whimpers*

Also, your Andromeda rocks. And I love Nym changing her hair to the team colors.

I like adult Tonks. If Remus can't be with Sirius she's definitely my second choice. I do think JKR handled it very clumsily but I don't hate the ship like a lot of people. It's sad to see it from this point in time, though. :(

I imagine Remus as having a really calm, reassuring manner. I'm sure small children would glom onto him.

I love Andromeda. I know there's very little about her in canon but she just has to rock.

As a puppy shipper (all right, behind my true OTP - Big Red and the Wolf - Arthur/Remus, not a popular ship, as I seem to be the only member.), I fully agree with you re. Tonks. Much like Sirius, she can be moody, passionate and dangerous. Perhaps the difference is that her background left her with much less baggage. In the end I just want to make certain that Remus finds happiness.

Dinner parties are lovely ways to get exposition out the way. :) I had a lot of fun working out the politics and where everyone stood.

I had a lot of fun with Nym. I bet Sirius spoilt her rotten ^_^

James is slow, bless him.

I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
