Well not really technically, but who cares :)
It's the closest I'll get to being an aunt :) My cousin who I grew up with became a daddy last Tuesday <3

Isn't that like great aunt or idk, some kind of cousin whatever number removed? I think llywela13 will know all about the correct term to use here ;)

Heeee! The child of your first cousin is your first cousin once removed. I have a stack of 'em, 'cause my family is very prolific... *G*

yeah I know, we call it something like 'distant cousin', but they all call me aunt... and so I decided that aunt is just much better. And since me and my cousins kinda grew up like brothers and sister, I figured it didn't matter ;)

I knew you would comment on the technicalities ;) But I did say that I wasn't the aunt technically ;) It is family after all :D
I have a bunch of those cousins once removed or whatever on my fathers side of the family, I don't even know their names... I only know one of them I guess.. But these are my cousins from my mothers side of the family and we are really close, so it's different. :)

Hey, I wasn't going to say anything about technicalities, but then Line mentioned it and referred to me, so...

In my family, we have so many different degrees of cousin, various removes, we just say 'cousin' and leave it at that. *G*

I'm dying of overload of adorable! She is so precious and you just so happy! I'm glad you shared! And if you grew up with your cousins like siblings, then aunt is a perfectly acceptable term!
