So when choosing a college... do you go to the very best school you can get into that's great for you? Or do you go somewhere you feel at home and just fit into, while also great for you, is not the best school you could get into

my opinion on the whole do you go to the best school you got into or one where you feel at home -
personally, i opted for the one that felt right. maryland, while it is a great school and has an excellent business school - still wasn't ranked the highest out of the ones i got accepted at. according to usnews, nyu is the best business school i got into and carnegie mellon was the best school overall...but maryland felt right. plus they gave me mucho scholarships (muhlenberg will probably do the same for you), and that was definitely a factor. honestly, after your first job, it doesnt matter as much where you went to college anyway. go where you think will fit best for you and where you can be the most successful.
but really it's all up to how you feel, and you won't have to really decide for a while anyway.
you go somewhere you feel at home and just fit into
obviously apply everywhere and just see what happens. but you gotta go where you feel right. and if this school is a safety for you then they will def. give you a nice scholarship package, which will def. make it feel even more right. don't stress too much about it yet, just send out your fantastic applications when the time comes and when the acceptance letters + fin aid packages roll in it'll be easier to make a decision.
You don't need to decide yet! I only decided about 2 days before the response deadline. Everyone says to apply to 7 or 8 schools.. 2 (or 3) safeties, 3 matches, and 2 reaches. I ended up not getting into my top, top choice (like a lot of people) but now I believe it's best that I didn't. Wait til you hear from schools; when you get it, a lot of schools assign a current student to call and talk to accepted students. Talk to them, ask all your questions, go to "accepted student" open houses, stuff like that. Don't decide until you're sure.
