HUNGER GAMES CASTING...

The hunger games casting has brought me back to LJ. lol, I couldn't hide from it. A friend on fb posted a link to it and now i can not un see.

I am unhappy with everyone they have casted so far, but since I haven't been in the fandom at all lately. What is actually going on? Opinions? THG fandom mostly pro or con?

Yeah, I've pretty much decided to be con-neutral on the casting. Like i don't like it, but i don't like a lot about movies based on books, so i'm not going to go into a heated debate about why the actor sucks for the part.

(i will however go on and on if the script cuts my favorite parts out. haha. the story is more important then the actors tbh)

I don't know about the rest of the fandom given that I stopped following the coms MONTHS ago but I was rooting for Lawrence and was really thrilled when she got the part. Neither of the male leads look right but frankly, neither did Lawrence and I know she's going to do a fabulous job.

It's really reassuring to hear you like Lawrence for the roll, right now I'm not happy about any of the casting, but it really isn't that big of a deal for me. Since when are movies casted perfectly anyway?

Right. Plus, at this point if feels like of... wheel spinning to invest too much energy into the films. It's like, they haven't even started FILMING yet. I don't want to be sick of hearing about THG when the movie FINALLY shows up in theaters, you know? And that's when we'll actually know whether or not they're going to stand or fall.

Yea, I totally agree with you.

I feel like fandom has ruined book movies for me, lol. It spoils all the fun for when the movie is actually coming out, and so i think i'll just get emotionally invested in the movie once the trailer comes out. xP

haha tbh, thg fandom is starting to eat itself. :/ it is so backstabby and full of hatred.

i personally am annoyed at the gale casting (it sucks) and fond of the peeta (though josh is going to look hella younger than jen, which will be all kinds of awkward).

yeah, i have definitely noticed that, after all of the posts about the ~leaked~ script and all. its sad. But i mean, even in mockingjay i remember it getting all up in arms about people not interrupting it the same way...

I pretty much agree. I don't like any of them so far.
redbrunja seems to like Lawrence for Katniss so that is encouraging, but i guess we'll all really know if they can pull it together when the trailer comes out.
