"I continue to faithfully perform Qigong every day. Coming up on 3 weeks. I intend to make this a habit. I do, I do, I really really do."
Sounds as though you're liking what Qigong is doing for you.
You also sound happy and content in your winter nest.
:^)

Yes, I am feeling quite well and January is almost over, impressive for me.

And, I think, I finally get it; and by that I mean I understand that my worth is not measured by my productivity, that winter is a time to slow down, just like Nature does and that I can do what I damn well please at last. LOL

Is the egg apron for collecting eggs without breaking them? If so, I want to see how it turns out. I have a friend who is forever putting them in pockets and then either breaking or forgetting them.

Yes it, also leaves your hands free which I think will be helpful. I used this pattern that I bought on Etsy.

https://www.etsy.com/listing/615802904/no-sew-egg-apron-crochet-pattern?ref=shop_home_active_1&crt=1

Will post a picture when I am finished. It seems to be taking forever, but I am at least getting a little faster with the crochet now, had been a lot of years since I had done that.

That’s really cute! I don’t crochet, so Richard definitely won’t get one just like it, but it does give me ideas for a sewn version.

I have seen some really cool sewn ones. I didn't want to try that as it has been even longer since I have sewed than it has since I have crocheted.

Do you follow the same pattern when you do the Qigong? I've seen it but I've never had lessons, the how-tos. Is there a video you follow? I'm curious. A guy who I swims when I do, will go into the steam room afterward and do about 10 minutes or so but it seems like he's not doing exactly the same thing every time.

I probably need to know more.

Your self portrait says "power woman!" to me.

Yes, I use videos on YouTube. I am especially fond of Jeffrey Chand. He has a nice sense of humor and he's kinda cute. I tried a number of instructors before settling on him.

I do find that it works wonders on my neck pain and in general I have been feeling better since making it a habit, haven't missed a day in 3 weeks, unusual for me, but after all I am stuck here inside with plenty of time. There is a lot of breathwork with the movements in the videos I have been doing which I like as I have been doing that for 40 years I suppose.

I like the Qigong more than yoga because it is less demanding on my body.

I also like that you see the self portrait in a better light than I did. I did not make time to draw yesterday, am wanting to make it another daily habit. Did you begin your classes yet?

Before I read your response I did visit YouTube and found Mr. Chand right away and liked him. It looks like he is prolific on YouTube.

To me, your picture says, "don't F**K with me." And yes, I started last Wednesday since Monday was a holiday. I think I"m going to really enjoy the experience.

I think part of the reason I like him is because he reminds me of my grandson who is half Vietnamese. :)

I am excited for you and your classes.

The sketch must be a portent because I have been a total bitch all morning. Lol

Well, only a couple more months left and then we will start to see the beginnings of Spring, though I do not look forward to Summer and those high temps, I do love Spring when the Earth comes alive.

I know what you mean about scheduling an appointment with oneself.. I like that. I failed to draw yesterday and am trying to establish a habit of drawing every day, but my daughter came to visit and oops no drawing, maybe tomorrow because kids are coming for lunch today and maybe I really go out and make a snow angel lol

You sound all snug and content in your nest and this is good :)

Yay on the egg apron progress!

A nice sketch of yourself :)

My last text would be from one of my sisters :)

And there's very good memories to be had from the 70s! (In the 60s, I was still just a school girl :) )

Well, what you gonna do, but make the best of it. There is really no reason to get out on slick roads and go to town when there is nothing there. It does get boring sometimes, but I try to stay busy.

I was in my 20's in the 70's and did a lot of things I maybe should have know better than to have done, but I sure did have fun, a huge group of friends, communal living. We were poor but happy. And, I started gardening then, which has stayed with me all my life. You are 10 years younger than me? I am 73 now.

You're still young ;-).

My parents didn't garden at all so I taught myself. Rented a house in the country and started now. It is funny how many mistakes I made. Husband grew up in a gardening family so have learned a lot from him. I do love the story of your younger life, sounds fabulous and fun.
