I Walked

to the neighbor's house and back. I did this yesterday too. I intend to walk this route on all sunny days above freezing. This may be another pipe dream, but it feels good so maybe I will. I think I would like a walking partner. But, I only think that when I feel lonely. Otherwise, I like setting my own pace and not having to participate in a ( Read more... )

Love your house!

Good on you with your walking.

And how nice of you to share your Reiki with Erin for her migraine! I do hope she gets better quickly! (My eldest daughter suffers them. So did my mum. Blasted genes. I missed out - luckily!)

EDIT: Beautiful tree! How nice of Nature to provide all three colours at once. I was admiring mine last autumn...and then Old Flame cut a branch off!

You are very lucky , my mother me and all my daughters have migraine. Mine have gone away with age, thank goodness.

That one is a surprise every autumn, different each year.

I watch the husband like a hawk when he has a saw in his hands lol

Very lucky. And very thankful.

It certainly is a pretty tree!

Yes, hubbys are very dangerous when they have a saw in their hands...as so many dead plants attest..

Oh my gosh THAT TREE!!

I like your walking plan, and I do a similar thing. It's definitely lonely for me out here...but it's nice to be alone with one's thoughts, too.

Your cardboard house is so cool :)

Thanks on the house. I used to walk miles on these roads, but not so far now. And, I took today off because it is overcast.

That tree can sometimes beat out the sugar maples, but not always.

Thanks on the house. It will make a good Halloween decoration for next year.

That cardboard house is beautiful. Will you do it's interior too? Layering of the paint: you can pant certain sections in a certain color, and when dry, paint over the first color with another color, or a similar shade, letting the first color show here and there in the brush work, or by scraping the wet paint off here and there, or, leaving the first color show in places that "you missed". You can do this several times, building up a rich painted surface. Sometimes the first color can be a darker hue or color that sort of outlines the succeeding layers, and sometimes it can be like a bright red or somethng, that emphasizes the structure after more neutral second colors or complimentary colors are put on. Layering gives the richest look to any painting and makes it have emotions and character more than any other technique. You can add things to the paint, like paste to make an impasto brushwork, or ruffage, like cat litter to add texture here and there too. Have lots of fun ( ... )

Thanks for the great advice on the painting. I had no knowledge where to begin. Got s few ideas from a video, but it had no verbal instructions and went way too fast. Big hug for helping me.

I am thinking to start with black at least on the tower as the first coat so that it will show so it will create depth. I want it to end up looking gray and weathered.

Texturing is a great idea, I'm seeing that on the chimney. Wow I have so many ideas now that I want to start, but still have a lot of detail work left, frigging shingles lol.

Good idea to take sketch pad. I mostly draw from photos, not much confidence in my ability to draw from reality, but can try. You do that so well.

Thanks again, you are so kind and helpful. I seriously appreciate you.

I’m so behind in my LJ Reading. Love the colors in the tree. I hope you’ve been able to continue your walks. Today is our first really cold day this season.

How fun is that house! It kind of reminds me of the Weeble Wooble haunted house I played with as a kid.
