An Odd Day

Apr 08, 2015 21:16

My day began at midnight I think, small wonder that it was odd. I had fallen asleep in my chair and woke up at 12, wide awake. Oh boy, I love being wide awake at midnight...not. I decided to read for a while hoping that I would fall back asleep. I fell in and out of wakefulness till 6:30 when I decided I might as well get out of bed and drink my ( Read more... )

The City Museum sounds so intriguing! Lucky girl to be going there.

I like how you end your writings with a gratitude list.

This sounds kind of like my day today. I slept in until almost 11am. My body must have needed sleep. Now my day just feels off. Still drinking coffee at 2:30 which means I may be wide awake tonight. It's overcast and dreary which of course doesn't motivate me to get anything done today.

I am not a good wrapper either. Luckily my husband is so he gets that job unless the presents are for him. In that case he just laughs at my attempts.

Ok. I should try to accomplish something around here. Enjoy your day! :)

I love sleep.. Now that' I'm O L D, I can admit that I really enjoy naps especially on rainy days.

My husband ended up helping me with the gifts, we ran out of wrapping paper and so he used brown packing paper that he had saved and drew on them with magic markers. I found it amazing that he was doing such a thing.. after 40 years he can still surprise me. Hah

Because I'm at home now, without the structure of work, I'm finding myself going through some of this. It's disconcerting. Do your children live close?

Yes, my 4 daughters (have no sons) all live within an hour of where I live. Amazing Anah who you will no doubt read about in my journal comes here after school 3 days a week. I think I'm almost an anachronism .. lol.. my career was and is my family.

I've come to think that humans really are creatures of habit and when our routines are disrupted we become disoriented. I notice when my daughters (all of whom have careers) have time off for some reason they don't know what to do with themselves.

Will you have much more time off? You can read so many books..............
