sheesh. really hope you're okay, i've been worrying about you recently.
what to do? you get lots of rest, get yourself back on your feet and take full advantage of being able to hopefully relax a bit and allow you to do any extra bits of wedding planning and smaller things that were also eating into your time and consciousness with a bit less stress and strain.
Aw, thanks my dear. Am feeling seriously guilty about having time off and being paid for it, but my boss told me to think of it like a broken leg that needs to heal, so I'm trying not to feel too bad! Will definitely try and chill out and focus on wedding stuff, but I'm also going to try and do some fun stuff so would be lovely to have that girly night soon. I feel as though I've been a rubbish friend lately - need to get out of my Stress Vortex and spend nice times with other people I think...
you shouldn't feel guilty - you're having the time off for good reason. and your boss is right, like a broken leg, you need time to heal and get yourself back on track. focus on things you enjoy, enjoy the run up to your wedding a little more, and see plenty of friends. you've been given a licence to slow down, use it wisely.
and yes, we must have a girly night soon. i'm around all the next week or so if you fancy a weeknight in chiswick? xxx
Excellent, will have a look in my (now increasingly empty!) diary. Also, you need to come round and see our new place - Di is coming round one evening next week so you could always join if it's not too far after work?
Hopefully you can get lots of rest and feel better. You're welcome to come to Wales if you want to rejuvenate in the countryside.
And I have news! I almost told you last week, but got distracted by TV areials and spaghetti :) I'm pregnant. I had my first scan today and the little blighter was wriggling away...I think it's still dancing after the Gogol Bordello concert I went to on Saturday.
Oh my God, that's so amazing! I can't believe I didn't notice anything was different! Huge congratulations to both of you, I can't wait to see Junior Rimmer - I guess it'll be a new year baby?
And thanks so much, would definitely love to come and visit soon - I can't wait to see your place, I bet it's beautiful.
get lots of rest! no really, i really hope you are ok, stress is awful and depilating and its easy to feel guilty about being off over it, which doesnt help with trying not to be stressed! but the important thing to remember is that you get back to feeling relaxed and most importantly enjoying the run up to your wedding. take care! xxx
It is pretty good to be able to focus on the wedding at last, it's had to take a real back seat lately. In a way it's good that I still have lots of things to do - you're right about the guilt over doing nothing adding to the stress! Am definitely going to try and relax as well though, I could do with some extra sleep!
If someone official has decided you require two months away from work, I'd say taking things easy is the best path to take.
In general the same advice as everyone else- take time over things, enjoy the final preparations for your wedding, spend time with friends. My personal twist would be getting into a two-month-sized craft project - a cross-stitch kit maybe, or find a list of the greatest books ever published and see how many you can get from your library.
Don't do anything work-related. Your career can wait for two months.
All good advice, thanks. The project is definitely a good idea - I've started taking singing lessons, which is a good start, so maybe I'll get into some kind of musical project. It's been ages since I've really had time for things outside of work, and I'm sure there must be a list of things that I've wanted to do for ages!
The career can definitely wait for a while - I figure I've probably built up a bit of extra holiday with all those weekends and long days I've been working anyway!
