We heard about this storm only on Wednesday. Some tropical mess off the coast was how it was described. I looked at doppler radar and saw only a mish-mash of clouds. Nothing very impressive, I thought ( Read more... )

I've only heard Beryl used as a girl's name. Best of luck! I hope that she'll won't end up being as bad as people seem to be fearing.

I saw a lady named Beryl today. Hope you come through the storm safely with little damage. We could do with some rain up here. Good to hear from you.

I think the name could go either way, although I've associated it in my mind with Queen Beryl from the first season of Sailor Moon (the animated series). She was a piece of work, too.

Definitely female, and of my mother's generation, in Britain. I know two Beryls and what they lend to the name fits a tropical storm beautifully!
