With all these consistent curses, I'm surprised anyone's been able to do anything at all. This has been one crazy event after another, honestly! I do hope everyone is doing better! I do love this time of year though-- not quite the end of fall, not quite the beginning of winter. There's always something really enchanting about it, though I might be

I'm sure you'll hear from Rosella herself, but I wanted to ask on her behalf, since both you and she are friends of mine.
Sam's been hurt, and badly, in one of those nightmarish traps. It was a curse, yes, but his wounds are real enough. Is it too forward of me, borrowed 'familiar' that I am, to ask if you might see about sending a little magic his way?
Really, I suppose you should ask him first since that seems like the way the magic works, but I wanted to mention the idea to you. His injuries are worrying Rosella beyond sense. I have my doubts that the girl is even eating or sleeping.

Those traps, yes, but there was another time when someone in particular was setting them--Amanda Young, if the name is familiar to you. I remember those days, but I was busy with my father and my brother, and perhaps even Merry being in the City and I don't recall much about what happened, but I do recall it happening.
But he asked whether her portrait was still in the Hall. So he was one of her victims before, and this isn't the first time that he's been hurt like this.
I've checked on her as much as I can. I think she's spending all the time she can at the hospital with him.

How are you, Rosella? I heard about Sam. Why didn't you let me know immediately? I'd have looked to him as soon as he was brought in.

...Oh, I'm--it's just that Dr. Chase was the one telling me how to--I was a bit...preoccupied, at the time. And not thinking much of anything at all, really.
