The other day I walked home from school, about three and a quarter miles. Also, apparently Captitol Hill is really actually on a hill, dammit ( Read more... )

The gym in Pittsburgh was really good for short people. I generally really like bouldering because I don't need equipment except shoes; I can just walk in and climb. So, I'm jealous you have an all-bouldering gym. Seattle doesn't have one of those.

Portland does, and Cat and I can get you in for free (a limited number of times per month), if you ever want to come crash at our place. We're desperately lonely.

you mentioned a suggestion from someone for an apartment name, but i can't remember if it was terrible.

i think anduin, southbase, and minas arda are fine names, though i will think of some more later. arda could be construed as a bad sindarinization of harvard (ave), in addition to being the earth.

Akiva's suggestion was Burnt. I kind of like that, or something else that was famously burnt down.

What exactly is Southbase?

southbase is just a name.

hmm... the reichstag? no, no...chicago. is like a building. the crystal palace, the library of alexandria, the white house, none terribly good.

boxfort is a decent name, but i wasn't personally very involved in the original boxfort.

You should wear platforms to climb in. This is the only reasonable solution to your dilemma. Also, since that will only compensate for leg length and not arm length, you should use stilettos as grappling hooks. Aha! You can be like a reverse Rapunzel. Simply tie the stilettos to your flowing golden locks, do a quick ninja hair spin, and launch your dom style ruby slippers with pinpoint accuracy onto the wall.
Then again, I might be mixing storylines.

Part of what makes climbs more difficult is having fewer more spaced out handholds, so VOs will probably be a bit higher level in comparison for you, especially if the people setting them are a foot taller than you. I wonder if there is a relatively simple conversion equation that can be made to calculate an approximate level with variables including height and spacing.

Yeah, I'd estimate it was about 1 unit harder than Pittsburgh, maybe a little less. I normally can make V1s with some minor effort, and I just barely can't make V2s. Here I could do V0s, but barely couldn't get V1s.
