Silly you. :) I suspect you figured it out, but just in case:
We have the "A.B." degree or bachelor of the arts degree in computer science degree, typically abbreviated COS.
We have the "B.S.E" bachelor of science and engineering degree in computer science, which is essentially the same curricula offered by the same department, but I believe there's some difference in the graduation requirements (specifically concerning distribution requirements that aren't particularly major-related, and the independent work requirements).
Either way, its standard to require 8 departmentals or upper-division courses (whatever you want to call them - courses past introductory level/'standard' sophomore-year level courses).
It's not a Draegera book. It's called Freedom and Necessity (it's cowritten by Emma Bull), and it's mostly historical fiction (all the reviews call it fantasy, but I'm 2/3 of the way through and there's very little to make it so yet). It's about Chartist and Communist plots mid nineteenth century England and is written as a series of letters and journal entries. It's very good, but a much harder read than his other books, and very different.
