yeah. and with that attitude, he must have been a very good teacher, at least for students who could follow his thinking.

i remember reading that when i was a kid. gave me a fresh appreciation for einstein as something more than a stereotypical genius scientist.

he played the violin as a hobby. the man who was my piano and voice teacher when i was a child had occasionally been Einstein's accompanist, just kind of hanging out and playing music. he told me that Einstein played "with more passion than precision", but that he really wasn't bad for someone who was not a career musician. and that it was fun making music with him ;-)
