We are nearing day three of a world without Robert Vaughn, and I’m still not over the loss. I’m still going through the five stages of grief, and it’s only gotten slightly better. It hurts. Oh, God, it still hurts. And CBS this morning showing a montage of Robert pics with “Hallelujah” playing in the background got me sobbing all over again ( Read more... )

Thanks for this post. I am a fan of your MFU and multi-fandom stories. And find quiet delight when I see your name on a fic when I check out a new (to me) fandom.

My fandom friends and I have had many loses recently and have discussed the fact that fan grief is real yet is ignored or even laughed at by real world family and friends. But we have loved these characters and actors and love is a verb. It is an action that fills the world with power. Robert and Napoleon have been loved and will be grieved. You are not alone in your sorrow. LoVe, Mo

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoy them.

Indeed, that we're so affected is a testament to how wonderful Robert was!

Thank you for your kind words.

**hugs.** It really does hurt to lose someone who is so highly admired and seen as a hero. There was at least one time when I was so thoroughly devastated by the death of someone I'd never met that it took me some time to be able to feel better.

But the good thing is that we can feel better and continue with our lives and we can keep those special people with us always. I'm glad that you know you will be okay sometime. That is what Robert would want too.

And it's also good that the fandom has come together in the face of this tragedy. When like-minded people can grieve together, that helps as well.

*hugs back* Indeed, it does. And I'm sorry for your loss, as well.

*nodnod* Yes, we can. And I believe so, too. :)

*nodnod* Indeed.

Thanks. That was some years ago.... Actually, I think it was the beginning of 2008. So it seems like you first contacted me either right in the middle of that or else shortly after I was starting to feel better. Hmm.

:)
