LOL, it's okay; there are a few rare ships that I do support--none in the Monkees, but in some of my other fandoms.
(However, reiterating that I would love to see something platonic from you re: Mike & Davy. Hurt/comfort gladly welcome. From you, it would be done to perfection, I know it. We need to start a trend for more Mike & Davy fics!)
And I very much look forward to reading your vignette series! Haha, I know I meant to start that, but I really need to work on a short story for a competition in one of my other fandoms--I'm halfway done with that, but then I'll have to work on the next chapter of Red Sky (since I'm sure people would protest if I put off letting them know what fate befalls Peter and Mike for an additional week, LOL...)
There were indeed so many wonderful moments in the season finale! And the emphasis on familial true love being just as powerful as romantic love was just so wonderfully unexpected and awesome. I wondered if they would do that, and yet I didn't really think they would. I squeed very hard.
In the movie Beau Gestes, there's a lovely quote that I wrote down. Let's see if I remember it without getting my old notepad out....
The love of a man for a woman wanes and waxes as the moon. The love of a man for his brother is as constant as the stars, and enduring as the words of the prophet.
That is an intriguing backstory. I could see that being the way it was.
Oh, yes, especially after the emphasis had been on romantic love for the entire season, aside from a few exceptions (say, I wonder if that'll be how season 2 opens, with Gepetto saving Pinocchio/August? Assuming he's not restored already with the curse being broken, that is...).
Oh, that is a beautiful quote!
*nodnod* I see Mike being the initial owner of the Monkeemobile (before it had that name, of course), too...
I would like if they showed Pinocchio being rescued (assuming he still needs to be). It kind of seems like if he was normal already, we would have seen it.
Indeed! I love the movie, although it's very sad. So much sibling squee.
I can see that! Although I also have an adorable image of the four of them trying to pool together all of their funds to get the car. But that's probably unlikely, considering how much a sweet ride like that would probably cost. Considering their money problems, it is a puzzle how they have such a nice car. Maybe it was an old heap they got cheap and Micky being the mechanic, he managed to fix it up. (If one of them didn't already own it, as you've suggested.)

Yeah, it probably would be too expensive. Hey, maybe it was a going-away present for Mike, and he let Micky customize it?
