Charizard always aggravated me, since he was so uncooperative and liked to roast Ash. But maybe he was extremely temperamental from being abused?

Brock definitely sounds awesome in the episode! I *kind* of think I saw that, during the time when I was checking out a lot of the videos. It would be neat to do a follow-up fic.

I am reminded of that Poseidon Adventure fic I was doing for YGO that people still comment on and want to see finished.

You know, I think Charizard's previous abuse did indeed have something to do with his personality. It was when he was flashbacking and recalled how Brock and Ash had saved him as a Charmander that he started getting better. He's perfectly mellowed out by the time the Johto arc starts.

LOL! I can just imagine Richard signing like that. That would have definitely had been a sight to see.

That Charmander episode is one of the ones that I remember most. Something about him waiting for his master out in the rain, and everybody worried about it because if his tail fire went out, he would die? That was so sad. :(

I would consider my "Newkirk's Dream" fic to be an adaptation of "Family Feud" set in the Hogan's Heroes-verse. After all, most of the action does take place during an episode, except it's Newkirk, not Richard, who's hosting.

Wait--Charizard mellowed out? *From reading your comments* But wasn't his noncooperation part of the reason why Ash lost a big tournament?

Yep, that's exactly what happened in the Charmander ep.

Yep, Charizard finally did mellow out! He did cost Ash the Indigo tournament, but about 2/3 of the way through the Orange Islands arc, Ash saved his life again, which had Charizard flashing back to when Ash and Brock first saved him, and he became 100% obedient (well, maybe 99.9%, LOL...) after that.
