Hmm...

Well, I saw a preview clip of this coming Friday's Wild Kratts ep about Martin turning into a tree. And to my relief, it is not at all like what happened to Faragonda in Winx. XD Martin is still aware and sentient, thank goodness, but his Creature Power Suit has malfunctioned and become a tree, encasing him within the confines of the tree-suit, ( Read more... )

Sounds more interesting. Alas, I've only seen the movies, never read the books. I haven't seen them in a while- they're ok, but definitely not my favorites.

**nods** Well, the movies are, in fact, my favorite movies. XD

As for the books, they are currently my favorite, but Churchill's Secret Agent is promising to dethrone them. XD

But, yes, Friday's ep is now much more promising and interesting. And there's Thursday's, too. X3

Hmm, well, it's airing Friday, and your station doesn't seem to air the Friday ones on Friday...

The episode title is "The Blue and the Gray," so keep an eye out for that. ^^

One of my favorite Greek myths involves a Nymph turning into a tree by one of the gods. She is aware but can't communicate with anyone. It's sad but then that is pretty much how all Myths are. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of this myth.

Ack--something like that is pretty much what happened to Faragonda... only she was more melded to the tree--her figure was etched into it with an agonized expression and it was just so distubing...: http://images.wikia.com/winx/images/6/69/Episode_063_Infobox.jpg

That rubbed me the wrong way--what a horrifying fate! (Thankfully, Faragonda was eventually released from the spell, but still... **shudder**

They probably got the idea from that myth. As I recall the myth itself was to explain how a certain tree came to be (and of course I don't remember the name of the tree).

It was really sad but for some reason I like those type of dark stories (but I wouldn't want that to happen to a favorite character though). :)

Yeah, definitely not good for a favorite character...

"Old Tom Bombadil, he's a merry fellow!" I like Tom Bombadil. He's one of my favorite parts in the Fellowship.

Yes! He is awesome! I understand that they had to cut out a lot for time constraints, but they could've at least had him in cut scenes in the movie or something...

The LOTR scene I most missed from the movies was Scouring of the Shire. I understand why they cut it out (because it is a bit anti-climatic) but I just love those scenes in the book.

Yeah, it was a bit anti-climactic, but it would've been interesting to see, even as a deleted scene (though, it would've been kinda hard to do that, as Saruman had been killed earlier...).

I really need to reread LOTR...
