Commission: Alicia Melchiott

May 31, 2011 15:40

I made this costume for shin_san in March/April of Alicia Melchiott from Valkyria Chronicles. She just recently wore it to Fanime so now have images of her wearing it and it looks pretty badass. ^^

Note though that I only made the top, skirt, collar piece, and belts. She did her own armor, boot covers, headpiece, gun, and gloves.

That embroidery is incredible! I mean, the whole costume is awesome but you always do really great work. I'm really impressed with how much your embroidery has improved over the years. It's really, really fantastic~ <3

Well granted the machine does most of the actual work for it. The quality depends more on the image put into the machine that's then turned into the design. But I have learned ways of making them come out better and the back design I had to draw myself to get it to come out the right size.

My freehand embroidery isn't quite as nice. lol But I have improved there too I think.

^_^v It came out so well! I got a ton of compliments and even a few cookies. o.O I'm going to redo the boot covers and gloves (also carve my own gun). :)

Boot covers and gloves are both kinda hard and take several tries to get right. I know I'm still always trying different methods with the covers myself all the time.

And I wasn't sure if you had made this gun too or not since I saw you carving that other one and wasn't sure if you had done both or just one.

I was going to, but with the scheduling of exams around the convention, I had no time. I'll be carving one this summer though for the next time. I'm really determined to have the 'right' gun from the game. ._.
