eta: So I messed up the days - already, and answered Day 30's question today without realizing it. So the actual Day 2 will be swapped to Day 30, since they're interchangeable/applicable.

Day 02 - Your favorite book ever

I don't really understand the concept of not rereading, to me it's like visiting an old friend. Comforting. I'm lame, I know. But ( Read more... )

I looooove The Shining, both the book and movie. And I agree, it's a book about alcoholism and what it does to the family against the background of a horror story.

I was surprised they made the movie so much more... brutal. Normally books pretty up some very dark books, you know?

It's a little intriguing that they decided to go that route because yeah, Hollywood likes to keep everything fairly neatly packaged, I guess you could say. Kubrick tended to go against the grain though.

Did you see there's a sequel coming out? I don't know how I feel the summary yet. It's kind of not where I would have gone if I were the author. I'm nervous!

I just googled the sequel and that sounds...... huh. Interesting. o_O More the vampires thing than anything. I'm sure it'll be pretty well done but I wonder how the heck that's supposed to fit in.

YES, EXACTY. At first I was like O_O reading about the vampires, then decided it was ok because TS had plenty of paranormal elements, but wtf how do they go with the story?

Regardless, I'm hoping for a release date soon.

Isn't favorite book the last question?

Anyhoodle, I've only read one Stephen King book. And dude. It wasn't even scary as it was creeepy. I don't know if I could handle it, but I'm tempted. I've read Koontz, who I think is creepier than King, and lived to tell about it. Deeply disturbed, but alive.

Aw motherfucker. :( Um.. maybe I'll just swap the days out.

Yeah, I've always found King to be more classic horror, that is, not really scary at all. lol. I've never read any Koontz! I shall google.
