Missing: Muse - have you seen her?

So.

My muse has committed mutiny and jumped ship. I haven't written anything substantial in weeks. I've been in denial for some time, but to put the stark, ugly truth to words, I haven't the foggiest idea how to write any more. Everybody's process is different, but so many people have said that they have ebb and flow. Periods of ebb might last a few days or weeks or even months, but it always comes back!

I know that you write alot of fiction. Maybe you need a change of subject matter. Like... tackling different issues, moods, etc., which are unique to modern life?

The reason I suggest this is that my fiction is always flat unless it is in some way autobiographical.

Not that you should stop fiction all together, but maybe writing in a new way as an excercise will bring out your muse. :-)

I also suggest new experiences. Go somewhere you haven't been. Attend a concert or a lecture. that sort of thing. These things can inspire or ignite your imagination, which makes your brain just irresistable to your muse.

I hope she comes back soon!!!
