iTunes downloads are usually available within 24 hours of the show airing. They're not expensive, but you do need both a US credit card and a US IP address for your computer, or they won't sell 'em to you. I've never done it myself (what with the whole Canadian thing),b ut I'm told the quality is pretty decent. If you're not in the US, and that option is unavailable to you, email me, as there other options which beat the hell out of torrents. raincitygirl at gmail dot com

Thanks for the information. I went ahead and downloaded the necessary software from iTunes and did a trial run... I just finished watching "Rapture," and it worked fine. Definitely a digital file--visual quality not as good as through the dish, but perfectly watchable. So I guess that's what I'll be trying to do Monday night. (it took about 30 minutes to download the episode)
