This episode had a lot of heart-breaking sad moments with Reese and Fusco. I Liked it but like you said there are some holes but like my boyfriend always reminds me, suspension of belief: Overlook small flaws in order to enjoy the show/movie as a whole.

This episode made me like Fusco even more. I was screaming at the tv like C'mon I know he's going to get caught. It's his nature, which is odd for a cop. I feel like all he's been trying to do is redeem himself since Reese made him a part of this but it wasn't Reese's intention (at least I see that now) to redeem him but to use him. He's a tool at Reese's disposal. I think Fusco misunderstood this and thought they were a team or this was a chance to redeem himself but the key element to why this won't work is that he didn't take himself out of the corruption and try to change. He was forced out of it and I think at some level it will hold him back until he chooses to do his own thing and get himself out.

Yeah, I think Fusco did think of him and Reese as a team, which makes the whole situation even more heartbreaking. Poor Fusco.

...until he chooses to do his own thing and get himself out.
I'm not sure that he ever will, though. Not without something pushing him. He would still be working with his corrupt pals if Reese hadn't come along; who knows what it would take to get him to make a different choice now?

Fusco comes across as passive in a way. He's not afraid to act when someone is directing him, but has he ever really been proactive? I can't think of an instance. I sympathize with the character so much, it hurts to see him getting manipulated.

Oh, yeah, passive is definitely the word. The "go along" guy. He's a tragedy waiting to happen.

I was thinking the same sort of thing this week. Maybe everyone is totally oblivious in NYC, but I think if a tall and devastatingly handsome man was lurking anywhere in my vicinity, my hormones would be doing crazy things. Or something. ;)

Hee! It might be easy to assume he was another cop, but then what about when people keep asking about him after their arrest?!

I think Reese also sees Fusco as a bit like himself--but with less cause for reform? idk. I just felt like for a second there, he was going to say, "Welcome to the club of double-dealing, Lionel."

Stanton knows everything. ALSO. ALSO. I think Snow killed her, and framed Reese for it. A deal went south or something.

(LOS is dead, btw. That last sound we hear of him is him getting garroted)

I might also think Reese is jealous of not having an infant to keep him up at night. Erm. But that is probably just the sleepiness talking.

Snow as Stanton's killer is pretty much fanon by now. There's even a fic somewhere.

Yikes. I didn't even notice; probably distracted by that fantastic music choice at the end.

Reese certainly didn't have that absolute prissy horror on his face that Finch did.

I KNOW! I keep wanting to crack jokes about Reese eyeing the 'junk in her trunk', which is... bad. and amusing

clearly we couldn't end the episode with a happy Olivia/Peter moment.
Clearly. I love that she said she had to go pee, though. Hey, sometimes one has to!

How did the voices stop? Can't distract me with Peter/Olivia kissing! I want to know where those other 198 kids are!

*stamps foot* YES, I WANNA KNOW. And I'm a bit concerned that we won't get the answer to that. Guess we'll see.

Ack, one more episode and then a month-long break? Hah, it'll probably be another big cliffhanger, then.

HAI, I managed to journal hop to your LJ because I'm in the throes of PoI love and I really love your episode commentaries! I especially love your end bit there about how Reese categorizes people. It's so true, and it's... very much part and parcel of who he is and also what he was made into by the CIA. He's, weirdly enough, very good and very bad at compartmentalization. He divides people based on their use to him, but at the same time, I think he eventually had his falling out with the CIA because he can't deal with the grey. And that's why he falls so well into what he's doing with Finch, because Finch gives him a direction (save someone; it's a very simple and direct objective), and yet we see Reese beginning to have trouble with it once the lines get blurred, most especially in "Witness".

Ahahaha, yes, PoI has EATEN MY BRAIN and I don't get why, because it's, y'know, not actually that good. Though possibly that's part of it--the fact that it is fairly silly once you get past the dramatic music and Reese shooting things. And I keep writing Catwoman/Batman Morgan/Reese, even though I keep saying that I like the show because it's so gen. Oops. Anyway, I'm glad my utterly ridiculous and lengthy commentary is of interest to someone besides me. :)

I'd definitely agree that Reese has trouble with shades of grey.

OMG YOUR ICON LOLOLOLOLOLOL

But yes! It's completely eaten my brain, too. This is supposed to be a show that I'm not invested in at all, but now I'm like OMG OMG OMG. I like that it's kind of inherently ridiculous and the show seems aware of that but without going too much into lulzy territory.

YES I LOVED YOUR MORGAN/REESE. I am on board the tinhat boat with you.

If you don't mind, I'm friending you. :)
