'cause I wanna be different--just like everyone else

Yay, baby brother is home safely from Russia! Baby brother is really, absolutely old enough to take care of himself. This was his second time in Russia. He lived in Syria--twice. But he's still my baby brother and I'm glad he's home and that the worst thing that happened was he had a cold on the plane ride and now his ears are a bit stopped up ( Read more... )

So this is obnoxiously cheerful? I like. :)

1. Yessss. The only heels I can actually wear for any amount of time are wedges. And cute! :D

Your fashion ones generally remind me I need to go shopping. And buy straight leg pants.

And on Doctor Who? I can't stand Ten, but I have still seen most of series 3. Because Martha is awesome and never stops being so. I got the feeling she wasn't so generally popular and this is something I just do not understand.

Yeah, I don't get it either. Is it because I'm supposed to like Rose (or any other companion) better? Why can't I like all of them?!

*laughs* Thanks!

You haven't watched Lost yet? It has its last season coming up in 2010. You might check it out sometime; there are pretty people in pretty places. (Most of it is filmed in Hawaii.)

FRAK yes! But most especially the ME love. I love watching him as Ben. But I have a THING for snarky evil, I know. *g* And he definitely seems fun in RL life, too, at least in the clips I've seen. That bit with Josh at Comic-Con was SO Ben-like: "You can't read, can you?"

I object to Crocs hate! *G* Crocs are awesome for the wee ones! They slip on, they're easy to clean, and they're comfy. Kidlet LOVES his. Grownups wearing them should be exiled, however.

Snarky evil is definitely FUN on tv.

I have no problem with Crocs for kids. Even adults can wear them--for gardening. And I'd make a reluctant exemption for people who work in hospitals and need easily-sterilized comfy shoes. That's about it, though. They're just SO ugly. Why would anyone wear what looks like gumdrops on their feet?! Especially when there are lots and lots of other shoes that are both cute and comfortable.

Hee! You are funny, Rose. :-) Maybe some people like gumdrop feet?

Usually the excuse I hear is, "They're so comfortable!" But I have LOTS of shoes that are both comfy and stylish. It can be done. And comfort is hugely important, considering that I'm on my feet all day.

I guess I'd add 'people with genuine medical reasons' to my list of Croc-wearing exemptions, though. But for everyone else? Go spend some of that money on comfy, *nice* shoes.

You are very upbeat! Even when you inspired me to write my unpopular list. Which really was unpopular. I could tell especially with the things no one commented on.

I agree with straight-leg pants and jeans with lyrca! But these things are so hard for me to find! It's like it's fashion unpopular.

I demand a revolution for lycra jeans that don't necessarily look painted on. Oh, yes. :-)

You just have to keep looking! I know, it's hard, but keep looking!

well...

...

...I have a pair that doesn't look painted on. They're totally awesome.

e've had lots of "unpopular" fashion and fannish opinions (which, in my opinion, are simply cranky opinions, not necessarily unpopular ones) lately.

Ha, they so are! That's why as soon as I posted mine I thought of about 10 more I wished I'd included. :D

I haven't seen many fashion ones though! I'm with you on 4 of 5 fashion opinions. (I don't trust myself to find the good lycra.) Especially loving the wedges and tankinis right now. <3

1. I was reading somewhere about how incredibly unusual it is for the heroine to say "no" to the main hero at the beginning of the movie and actually stick to her decision. Go, Uhura! Who wouldn't pick Spock anyway?

2. Yeah, that is a huge think even for a Daybreak non-fan

5. Frak is a frakkin' lifesaver.

Good lycra jeans are definitely hard to find. My fantastic pair is from landsend.com--the clearance section, which makes it even better!

YES! Movie clichés have taught us to expect her to change her mind about Kirk by the end, but instead they earned each other's mutual respect.

Plus, Spock > Kirk.
