I think I shall do bullet points today. Or the equivalent of them, since I don't know how to make them on LJ.

- I've Loved You So Long is a good movie. Bring a tissue. I particularly liked the relationships in the sister's family--lots of love, affection and respect.

- Pushing Daisies has apparently been cancelled. That's sad but not ( Read more... )

pushing daisies, movies, links, fic rec, mi vida loca, books, bsg, rose is weird

noooooooooo, don't kiss him! You're supposed to kiss SAM!
AHAHAHAHA.

You do know that there's a much longer preview from Canada, right? Starts with old footage (and a little bit of old Kara/Sam footage!) but then OMG OMG NEW STUFF.

I'd mock myself except that I'm too downcast.

Yes, I saw the other one. Sam is hurt but then there's KARA AND LEOBEN IN A FOREST! EEEEEE!

Actually this was all started by the slamming of another romance novel--that apparently I have to defend because I must stand up for the defenseless, heh.

I'm amused that they're still around, and even have the same covers! I've been in oblivious land while reading science fiction and mystery novels.

Well, yes. It really was bad enough before when I felt moderately shippy. Now I have to count on being upset by show canon?! Maybe there's a remedy somewhere?

As for the website link, heh. I think I'd see it around before, but that's just awesome.

Shipping a non-canon couple would require more tinfoil than I currently own. ;-)

I think the whole Kara/Sam thing boils down to three factors:
1) they're married, so I automatically hope they'll stick together
2) Sam's a cylon now, and I'm a sucker for the outsider (especially one who is reluctant to have that role)
3) I wrote them in fic more than once

Hopefully this was just a 'perfect storm' of events. Because this whole shipping thing is way more emotionally taxing than just watching the show. *g* I really don't want to feel this shippy again.

my mom was a subscriber to Harlequin Romance. She received like 4 books a month. By the time she eventually canceled it (we're talking years here) we had huge boxes of them lying around. I used to scoff at them but secretly I would snag a couple to read (especially the historical romance novels). *g*

Hee! The historical ones were good, but my favorites were the ones with the white covers...

And hey, if your mom had them around the house, she probably wouldn't be surprised that you were reading them.
