It's been a long week but the next two will be even longer, as I only have one day off per week but at least I'm getting 40 hours a week again. I just hope it doesn't burn me out too quickly. Work has gotten better though and I'm on my way back of front, one shift this week and two next week. Hopefully after that I will have more, and then get ( Read more... )

Well the Stafford Terrier is a specific breed, the Pit Bull breed is a reference term for any breeding mix of bull dogs. There is no pure breed of pit bull, but they have many different names.

We don't have any Staffies in our class this session.

that is part of problem.
I believe the ukc recognizes the pit bull terrier the AKC the staffordshire.

The AKC has taken steps to prevent dual certification of ukc pit bulls and AKC staffordshire.

you closer than most. Problem is too many people labling other bully breeds "Pit Bull" I seen boston bull terriers called pitts.
And when any bully breed goes bad they get labled a pitt.
Hell rotts are being called pitts these days.

My wife gnosticnoise has found two pages that has pictures of breeds mistaken for pits.

Pitt Bulls are some the most decorated police dogs out there.

We are little passionate about the breed after finding our rescue and relizing there are entire towns in tn that we can't take him to.

That is part of the reason that we do the HSUS End Dog Fighting training. People that own bully breeds, bulldogs or others have 2 strikes against them just for owning the dog. Pits are given a bad name, and we are trying to make sure that all of ours that come though training get AKC Canine Good Citizenship papers.

I can't believe the amount of dogs that we have turned around with this program. It's something I'm proud to be a part of.

Pits are wonderful dogs, some of the sweetest dogs I've ever met have been Pit Bulls. Labs on the other hand are a different story!
