Holy Moly! Those are some weird creatures!

I'm very amused by the noisy toad, and that heron on the sun roof made me smile!

I hope you found them cute as well as weird :) Actually, I adore the desman, strange-looking as it is. It's basically a water mole. Here's a video I just found. (I wish I'd found it earlier and included it in the post; maybe I'll post it separately.)

And here's another. It's a captive desman (well, actually two), but the video shows how it uses air bubbles to essentially smell underwater! (Click on the "Youtube" at bottom left for a description of how it works.)

Did you watch the GIF of the heron? It's absolutely worth it!

I've watched the toad video three times now, and it still makes me laugh. I'm going to take a nap (had a bad night), but first I'm going to email my husband a link to the post. I'll probably hear him laughing all the way down the hall.
