I'm still tuckered out. Which is funny, given that my husband did all the driving. Honestly, I was going to help -- we've "drive-shared" before, and B thought he'd need it -- but ultimately he just kept going and going. (I offered to take over, but didn't insist.)
I think I'm mostly emotionally exhausted. The cats seem to be doing fine, all of their traumas considered. Everybody seems to be eating, drinking and using the litterbox. The J-sibs are nervous and shy -- they've been hiding most of the time and are just starting to nose around the rest of the house tonight -- but they have let me pet them, when I was able to find them. Rudy, on the other hand, appears to be part limpet. I'm already working out the best ways of doing stuff on the computer without constant co-authoring by him.
Jackson didn't much care for my hand tonight. He was behind a bookcase, and he's allowed me to pet him in an enclosed space, so I petted his head and shoulders, which he likes. But he was stiff and not purring. When I took my hand away, he spun around and nailed me. Just a claw poke, but I got the message loud and clear!
Rudy, on the other hand, puts his paw on my wrist and kneads it (ow) while I'm petting his belly.

(I am harassing you, because it is funny to me. I hate long drives, I would be down for two days afterward.)
