That happened to one of my FB friends. She was livid. But got them taken down quickly. She got the copywrite herself and permission to write stories based off someone else's books/stories.

Do you mean the person who'd posted fic without permission and taken it down then got permission? Or she'd had permission to write based on others' stories and misinterpreted it, or...
