...but this cold therapy machine -- which I got on Wednesday -- is helping a lot. The downsides: it's a pain to set up, drain, etc. (although B is able to do that for me right now, and it's a little too effective, which means that I have to check the skin hourly to make sure i don't actually get frostbite. (So no sleeping with it on.) And it's not

Wow. Never thought of cold therapy. I am glued to my heating pad after my back gets a work out.

Glad it is helping. When is the surgery?

Well, heat works better for some things, and cold helps more for others. Heat helps my back as well.

The surgery is this coming Wednesday, and my pre-op appointment with the orthopaedist is tomorrow. I'm making a list (and checking it twice) of questions for him.

I asked if I could get it ahead of time. I was going down there to get the information that was lost in the mail, anyway.

I was amazed that they had advanced to that in home therapy. It was such a simple idea in the evolution of medical device technology, that I am surprised that those idiots who design these things actually realized and created it. A lot of the at-home tech is still so archaic I'm surprised it doesn't come with a 'Doctor Good's Magic Elixir' stamp.

It would be even better if it did the freezing on its own, or at least kept the water cold for more than a few hours. Although there probably are machines that do that and are a hell of a lot more expensive. Oh well.
