Rose was tinkering around the kitchen making pancakes and cooking eggs, she even made a pot of Lapsoung Souchong tea and coffee, just in case Clark preferred coffee. She wasn't nervous, she was yesterday when Clark called. Now? Not so much.

Now, if only she could believe it.

And there was the doorbell. Clark was wearing the glasses this time.

Rose could see Clark's silhoutte from the window. She took a deep, calming breath before opening the door and realized she had to exhale too.

She opened the door and attempted a grin. "Clark, hello!"

He was wearing his glasses and she had to admit, the glasses did change the way he looked.

"Good morning," Rose replied and nervously smoothed her shirt and stepped back. "Come in."

Rose was surprised how pleased she was that Clark still considered this a social call.

"You said..." Rose began, "You said your planet was destroyed?"

"Yes." Clark said. This version of himself had clearly more time to process this information, and while still very sad about it, didn't sound quite so forlorn.

"It was called Krypton, and due to several factors, it was destroyed. My father sent me to Earth when I was a baby, and when I arrived I was adopted by the Kents." He decided he might as well take off the glasses now.
